Christmas came today
I have a grandson who is 17 years old. Every week for several months he comes to do heavy cleaning. He is my floor guy. Gets on his knees scrubs wood floors, moves boxes and takes out bags of broken stuff. I pay him for his time which I know he buys groceries and gas for his Mom's car. He doesn't have much but earns money in his way. This soon to be young man mows yards for some who can pay only some for the gas going in the mower. Lately I found out he is shoveling snow again for a meal or hot chocolate. He doesn't realize I know this fact. One day I took him to Toy's Forever where he talked with some guys about a electric car. They talked about cars, car clubs and how he could be in a hobby club. The Dad isn't in the picture much. Mom works and goes to school. Older brother runs with his friends and is looking for work. While in the shop this shy young man was captivate by these three much older men talking about guy stuff. In the shop was this electric truck with a remote he could upgrade. They also talked of repairs which they do or will show him how. I knew this truck might be a toy but it was more! The cost was $200.00. I knew I couldn't buy it so we talked lightly of how He could buy it. He struggled with this idea because of the cost. But one day he asked me for a loan. Something beside my budget said no, but again he could earn and pay for it. Every week he took part of what he earned and paid down on a red Stamped truck. Today was the day for the last payment! I knew it took 4-6 hours to charged this truck. Last week they ordered a quick charger for me. It didn't cost much $40.00 dollars. Christmas Eve is very far away to my thinking. We went to get the truck today. On top of the truck was the quicker charger which the gentleman gave him. He looked at the charger and put it on the counter. I looked at him gave him the charger and wished him a Merry Christmas. In front of these men I saw a younger grandson. He hugged me and kissed me saying Thank you so much. The store was quiet. The men looked away. Christmas came today.
